Guitar Setup in Clearwater, FL

Make your guitar play easier, sound better, and last longer
If your guitar hasn’t had a setup in the last year… it’s probably overdue.
Does your guitar feel different than it used to? A little harder to play?
Are you fighting buzzing, tuning issues or “stiff strings”?
It’s not you. It’s your setup. Guitars don’t stay in adjustment. They slowly drift out due to string tension, humidity, and normal use. Especially here in Florida.
It’s not just about comfort. It’s about protecting your guitar.
Neck Bow
As strings start to win the tug-of-war with the neck and truss rod, they slowly get more and more leverage as the neck bows.
That means their pull on your neck increases over time. Eventually, the neck can reach a point where the truss rod can no longer fully control it.
Guitars that are played and kept in tune, can see that neck bow soon grow to a point where the truss rod can no longer control it.
Guitars that aren’t being played see the opposite – the truss rod wins the tug-of-war and the neck gets a back bow. If not kept in check, it can become too much to adjust out.
Fret Wear
You know what else happens between setups? Your frets are getting worn. When new, strings contact frets at slightly different points and the wear is spread out.
By the time those tiny wear grooves are visible, the strings have been hitting the bottom of the groove with every strum, wearing your frets exponentially faster.
With our MasterProTM Guitar Setup, your frets get “renewed” with our “Fret Renewal” process, and any slight wear is removed while retaining fret crowns.
This extends the life of your frets and pushes Level / Crowns and Refrets further into the future.
I haven’t even touched nut and saddle wear, hardware issues, and things humidity and dust can do to your switches and pots.
Or how great your fretboard will feel after cleaning and conditioning.
Most guitars need a setup every 6–18 months depending on how much they’re played.
What Happens If I Don’t Get a Setup?
Skipping setups doesn’t save money—it can cost more money by delaying problems.
Small issues turn into bigger ones:
- Higher action makes playing harder and more tiring
- Poor intonation makes chords sound off
- Nut wear causes tuning instability
- Fret wear leads to expensive refrets
- Neck issues lead to buzzing or dead notes
And your guitar gets years shaved off it’s potential playing life!
Over time, what could have been a simple setup can turn into more expensive repair work.
A properly set up guitar is easier to play, more consistent, and more enjoyable.
