Step back in time with this classic Kimberly Acoustic guitar, model 8200, made for Tesco and crafted with precision in Japan. Featuring a timeless natural finish, this vintage gem exudes a rustic charm and warm, rich tones that only a well-aged instrument can offer.
This guitar was crafted in the Matsumoku factory in Japan during its golden era of the 1960’s – 1970’s. It is reminiscent of the Martin 000 models, just a bit smaller than a dreadnought. The guitar’s top is made of Sitka spruce, the sides are made of Brazilian Rosewood, the back is 3-piece and perfectly crafted with great purfling between the light wood triangle and the rosewood. The neck is a 14/20, with rosewood fretboard that has large mother of pearl slot inlays.
This Kimberly 8200 is a true collector’s item, showcasing the craftsmanship and quality that Japanese luthiers are renowned for. Its large body produces a robust and resonant sound, ideal for everything from strumming powerful chords to delicate fingerpicking. The guitar’s construction features traditional wood choices that enhance its sonic qualities, making it a fantastic choice for both performance and casual play.
In used condition, this vintage Kimberly maintains its classic aesthetic and playability. It has been set up by the professionals at Hank’s Guitar Shop in Clearwater and has been carefully maintained, ensuring that it continues to produce beautiful music. Whether you’re a collector of vintage instruments or a guitarist with a taste for unique sounds, this Kimberly Acoustic is ready to be a cherished addition to your musical arsenal.
