Description

This used vintage Encore Semi-Hollow Guitar from the late 1960s to early 1970s is a beautifully crafted ES-335 style instrument, made in Japan at the renowned Matsumoku factory. Finished in a striking Red Black Burst, it features classic semi-hollow body styling with a vintage tremolo system and double cutaway design.

This guitar has been professionally set up by Hank’s Guitar Shop in Clearwater and is in amazing condition. The frets are level with no wear, and it plays cleanly across the entire neck. Recent upgrades include new pots and wiring, ensuring reliable electronics and improved tone control.

The top toggle switch allowed switching of two different capacitors to reduce treble but big single coils hum a bit when you’re not playing so I changed that switch to a kill switch to silence the guitar between songs.

These large pickups deliver warm, articulate tones with plenty of vintage character—ideal for jazz, blues, rock, or indie styles. The semi-hollow body provides natural resonance and depth while maintaining clarity at higher volumes.

A great example of early Japanese craftsmanship, this Encore semi-hollow is perfect for players or collectors seeking a unique, well-maintained vintage guitar with excellent tone, playability, and visual appeal. Plays and sounds great, ready for stage or studio.
