Description
This used Sigma Guitars Acoustic Model GCS-1, was crafted in Korea under the design guidance of C.F. Martin & Company. Known for its quality and attention to detail, this model offers a classic natural finish and excellent tone, making it a standout instrument for players seeking both performance and heritage.
The Sigma brand was Martin’s way to get their guitars to the many people who wanted one but could not afford a domestic Martin guitar. They were made in Korea and sent to Martin Guitars in Nazareth, PA to be inspected by Martin for quality and craftsmanship before they were sold. One important difference is that the Sigma has laminated back and sides as compared to the solid wood Martins.
The GCS-1 features a traditional dreadnought body shape, sometimes called “grand concert”, that delivers strong projection and a well-balanced sound, ideal for a range of playing styles including strumming and fingerpicking. Its solid construction and smooth neck profile provide a comfortable and reliable playing experience. Sigma GCS models have a solid spruce top, mahogany neck , back and sides. It has 1 11/16 nut size, 14 frets, with medium fret size.
In excellent condition, this guitar has been well cared for and shows minimal signs of use. It is structurally sound and plays cleanly with clear, resonant tone. The techs at Hank’s Guitar Shop in Clearwater have given it a professional setup and it has a 90-day warranty.
Whether you’re a beginner, intermediate player, or collector of vintage-inspired instruments, this Sigma GCS-1 offers outstanding value with the design influence of one of the most respected names in acoustic guitars. A great choice for practice, performance, or recording.
