Description
For sale is a used 1998 Gibson Les Paul “The Paul” in classic Wine Red finish. This USA-made Les Paul features a timeless combination of style and tone, delivering the iconic sound that has defined generations of music.
Originally with budgets in mind, The Paul was created with some scaled down appointments from the signature Les Paul. In 1996, the model was resurrected with the Paul II, with a mahogany body and carved top like a Les Paul Studio instead of the flat top of prior models of The Paul. The body is 2/3 as thick as a normal Les Paul and features a rear belly cut as well. In 1998 The Paul II was replaced by The Paul SL, itself discontinued in 1999.
Equipped with dual humbuckers, including a powerful Seymour Duncan pickup in the bridge position, this guitar provides a wide range of rich, full tones with excellent sustain and clarity. It’s versatile enough for blues, rock, metal, and everything in between.
The body shows some light wear consistent with age, but overall it’s in good condition with no major damage. It comes with Grover tuners for stable, precise tuning and a rosewood fingerboard that plays smoothly up and down the neck.
Whether you’re a collector, performer, or passionate player, this 1998 Gibson Les Paul is a solid, road-ready workhorse with vintage character and professional sound. A dependable, great-sounding instrument with plenty of life left. It has been professionally set up by Hank’s Guitar Shop in Clearwater and has a 90-day warranty.
This comes with its original “well decorated” hard shell case.
